MEMBER clubs in the Exeter Youth League are reminded that the pre-season meeting is taking place next Tuesday (August 25) in the FLYBE Suite at St James' Park, Exeter.

All clubs need to have somebody in attendance for the season's handbooks will be given out and the cup draws will be made for the respective age groups.

Meanwhile, the League has been dealt a blow with the withdrawal of Whipton Youth Under-13s who have cited being unable to raise a side as their reason for pulling out of the League, this despite having twenty players signed up!

There is room, therefore, for another Under-13 team and anybody interested is asked to contact the League Secretary via the website at www.exeteryouthleague.co.uk.

The Under-11 section has received a new late team with Twyford Spartans asking to switch from the East Devon Youth League to the Exeter Youth League after the team's Manager found he would not be as available on Sundays and so had to pull his side out of the East Devon Youth League.

Clubs have been reminded by the League Secretary that this season ID cards will be strictly used and, as such, players without an ID card will not be allowed to play.

Furthermore, the League has announced that they will rigidly observe the FA rule on underage players inasmuch as the current FA rule on ages says that a player who has not reached the age of 10 by August 31 cannot play in Under 11 football in the 2009/10 season - the ID cards that are issued highlight the age groups in which the youngsters can play in.
