Youngster Alex Haggerty, who is a member of the Exeter City Academy Under-11 section, has secured players sponsorship for this season.

The sponsor is Richard Allison, who is the owner of the League Of Gentlemen Barbers Shop in Exmouth.

Richard first cut young Alex’s hair when he was two and has continued to be his barber to this day.

Alex wrote a letter to ask that the business consider him for a sponsorship – and the rest, as they say, is history!

Sponsor Richard says: “After receiving the letter from Alex Haggerty, handed over by the lad with a nervous look on his face, I read the letter and become very proud and honoured that Alex wanted me as his sponsor.

“The effort that went into the letter was very touching and I couldn’t really say no to him. So, after a handshake I said to Alex that I would be honoured to be his sponsor this season.”
