Exmouth United 7, Inter Heavitree 1

Playing their first game for a month, table topping Exmouth United Under-12s showed no sings of rustiness as they claimed another comprehensive victory.

The opening goal came from the first corner of the game with James Gill’s delivery knocked home by Adam Wilkinson.

Within three minutes the lead was doubled as Gill went on a mazy run before applying a clinical finish.

Some excellent link-up play involving Rory Bland, Sam Balbi and Adam Wilkinson, led to Jack May making it 3-0 and superb strike from Gill sent United into the break four goals to the good.

The second half was played in heavy rain, but the lead was soon extended with Wilkinson the scorer.

The visiting side then bagged a consolation with a strike that United glovesman Nick Eveleigh could do nothing about, before Wilkinson claimed his third to complete his hat-trick. Ben Daffin had the final word with United’s seventh.

United require one point from their last two matches, starting with Saturday’s home meeting with CS Juve, to claim the Exeter and District Youth League Under-12 Division Three title.
