Budleigh Salterton Under-15s were 5-0 winners when they met Feniton in an Exeter and District Youth League Division Two meeting, writes SpursTom.

The game was watched by a huge turnout for a youth game with a healthy 60 spectators on the side lines, all keen to see the contest between two of the title contenders.

The crowd were entertained by two teams playing their penultimate match, and wanting to win knowing that victory would go a long way towards being crowned Division Two champions. Hosts Budleigh Salterton began with a two point advantage, and should have taken the lead in the very first minute!

They did go ahead just after the half hour mark with the only goal of the first period. After a fine end-to-end contest it was the strike force of the young Robins who were on target four times after the interval, whilst Feniton were frustrated by the home defence. All 30 players involved should be congratulated for their contributions, in fact referee Mr Colin Thomas praised both teams.

Another clean sheet plus a Will White hat-trick and other goals from Ryan Daffin and Lewis Hillier meant the faithful Robins’ followers left Greenway Lane happy.
