EXMOUTH Town A went into their under-15 game at Cullompton Rangers knowing that nothing other than a brace of wins in their final outings would secure the East Devon League title.Town began well and looked to attack at every opportunity, but it was the home side who struck first, despite an excellent save from stand-in keeper Karl Riddell, the ball fell loose and was thumped home. The response was both swift and emphatic as Dan Fulls restored parity and then Town took the lead when a smart piece of midfield play by Ben Collins released Fulls to blast home his second.Just before the break Billy Gibson then placed the ball after the award of a free kick some 35 yards from the Mid Devon sides goal.He took three strides back and unleashed a superb drive that was nestling in the back of the net before the Rangers keeper had returned to earth!Poor defending at a corner allowed the visitors to get back into the game, but a hat-trick goal from Fulls restored the Town two goal advantage and, ultimately, seal a 4-2 win.Town boss Jon Collins said: "All the players have made me a very proud coach today. For me Karl Riddell was the undoubted star, playing in goal as a result of our regular gloves man being unavailable. His handling and shot stopping was excellent and any regular keeper would have been delighted with such a performance."The one game remains to be won and, hopefully, it will be Town lifting the East Devon Youth League title.
