Brixington Blues Under-10s were 3-2 winners of their Exeter and District Youth League match against Axminster.

Some neat inter-play involving Isaac Wykes, Rian Powley and Ned O’Mahoney led to Harry Tooby firing Blues ahead and a second goal from Tooby doubled the lead.

With Charlie Cain working hard, defender Frank Shelton making some timely tackles and goalkeeper Taylor Westaway looking confident, Blues were good value for their lead. A O’Mahoney penalty increased the lead, but Axminster got a goal back just before half-time.

After the break, Jake Gibbs-Clark and Liam May came on for Harry Tooby and Rian Powley and Gibbs-Clarke put in an assured shift in defence.

Axminster got a late second, but Blues saw the game out to bag a deserved win.

Blues team: Taylor Westaway, Rian Powley, Frank Shelton, Ned O’Mahoney, Charlie Cain, Liam May, Harry Tooby, Isaac Wykes, Jake Gibbs-Clarke.
