Table topping Bank United edged out by Black Swan

Bank United were edged out by the odd goal in three by Black Swan, Dawlish in an eventful Sunday League game.
Bank made the perfect start when a move begun by James Armstrong saw Phil Sanders set off on a mazy ruin that ended with him crossing for Dan Jones to fire his side ahead.
The home side then began to lose their discipline and there was a flurry of yellow cards handed out. Bank continued to press but they were unable to make chances count and paid the price when the hosts levelled.
Skipper Jamie Drummond was a whisker away from restoring his side’s advantage when his free-kick cannoned back into play off an upright. Just before the break the Dawlish side grabbed their second to take a 2-1 lead into half-time.
In the second-half Bank were unable to reach the heights they had shown in then first 45 minutes. Dawlish became the team in the ascendency and only some superb saves from keeper Graham Lewis kept Bank in the contest.
There were no further goals and so Bank slipped to a rare defeat but they retain top spot and will be hoping to still be there after Sundays’ visit to Exeter Snooker Club.
