THE South West Peninsula League is reminding clubs in the East Division that they need to have an individual trained to be an assistant referee.

To help clubs get people qualified the League has arranged a number of training evenings for people to be sent along to.

All East, and West clubs, have to provide a club assistant on match days and they have to attend the official training the League provides.

East Devon has Exmouth Town, Budleigh Salterton, Ottery St Mary and Axminster Town, all playing in the Eastern Division.

Re-training is required after five years have elapsed.

Clubs are invited, through the League website www.swpleague.co.uk, to apply to have people placed on the training night which, locally, is to be held at the Exeter Civil Service Club, Exeter, on Monday, July 19 from 7pm until 9pm.

There is no charge for the training.
