THE inconsistency that has blighted the Exmouth Town season struck again on Saturday as they slipped to a disappointing 4-1 defeat at Teignmouth Town.

Since a seven match winning sequence in League and cup from mid September to late October, Town have won just once in six outings and Saturday's defeat was their third in that time.

Of concern to Town boss Jody Bolt will, no doubt, be that his side have kept just the one clean sheet this term in the League, that in a 2-0 October 17th win at Exeter University and that means not once this term have they kept a clean sheet at Southern Road!

Ben Shephard who, despite the recent poor team form, continues to score goals.

He scored the Town goal at Teignmouth to take him to 17 for the season.

Next up for Town is Saturday's visit of an Appledore side that do not travel well and were in the area last weekend, beaten 4-1 at Royal Marines AFC.

After the visit of Appledore, Bolt must prepare his side for arguably two of the biggest games of the season and they will fall within 72 hours of each other!

On Boxing Day they make the short journey across to Greenway Lane to meet rivals Budleigh Salterton and, on December 28, they travel to Premier Division Ivybridge Town in the Throgmorton Cup.

The prize on offer that day being a last eight berth in the League Cup
