Exmouth United under-9s continued their exceptional Exeter and District Youth League season with season with solid victories over Dawlish United and Newton Town.

First up, against a much-improved Dawlish outfit s clinical finish from skipper Sammy Pratt gave them an advantage that they managed to hold on to for the remainder of the contest.

It was only some wayward finishing and some belligerent defending from the opposition that stopped the margin of victory being greater. Jared Guy had a fine game at full back.

Next up United took on Newton Town and some defensive errors from the opposition were seized upon to put United in charge.

A good through ball from midfielder Harry Williams saw striker Kyle Pearcy slot home the first and the lead was doubled when defender Ben Sribui’s fine pass released winger Kien Davey who crossed for Williams to net.

Newtown responded and halved the deficit before the break. The second half saw United once again wasteful with the many chances they created, but they made the game safe when a sweeping move ended with Joey Bowden slotting home the third.

Jo Tapp, Adam Brown, Jimmy Griffin, George Phillips and Charlie Bowen all made excellent contributions to the United cause in this game.
