Bad weather once again hit the Budleigh versus Chard Town meeting in the Axminster Hospital Cup with a waterlogged pitch seeing the game cancelled for the second time.

The heavy rain put paid to the chance of the ground staging the Wednesday night, Axminster Hospital Cup tie, between Budleigh and Toolstation League Division One outfit Chard Town.

The two sides will try again next Wednesday (January 19).

The pair will be meeting for a semi-final berth, with Axminster Town waiting in the last four.

Should the Robins get through, then Greenway Lane will stage the semi=final match.

There remains the possibility of an Exmouth Town versus Budleigh final in the competition for Town remain involved, they will need to see of Combe St Nicholas in their last eight game and then safely negotiate a trip to Alphington for the right to take their place in the Final.

In other local midweek football, the Royal Marines AFC went out of the Devon Bowl, beaten 3-0 at Zamaretto Premier Division side Tiverton Town on Tuesday night.

The Militarymen gave a very good account of themselves but fell short in the final third whilst the hosts, who play at three levels higher than the Royal Marines, struck twice early on and added a third late in the game.
