Budleigh Salterton became the first team in the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division to complete their home programme when they defeated Torridgeside 3-2 to claim their ninth Greenway Lane win of the league campaign.

The win, a fourth success on the trot in the league, and the ninth time this season that the Robins have scored three or more goals in a home game – they have also scored three or more goals in nine away matches, and the latest goals took their season’s league goal tally to an 88 in 31 outings!

The visiting side, playing their fourth game in seven day, took an early lead before Aaron Denny, who is ending the season in hot goal scoring form, levelled with a low shot across the glovesman from the corner of the penalty area.

Callum Shipton fired the Robins into the lead and leading scorer Jordan Harris crowned an excellent individual contribution on the night when he rifled the ball home from 25 yards to wrap up this latest win.

Budleigh have just one game left in their league season and that is Saturday’s (April 21) visit to Ilfracombe Town (3pm).
