Budleigh Salterton Ladies were beaten 8-0 when they travelled to Acland Park to meet Feniton ladies’ in a quarter final tie in this season’s Devon Women’s League Cup, writes SpursTom.

Cup holders Feniton made a flying start, taking a 10th minute lead. They doubled their advantage with a rather fortuitous 35th minute goal and added two more before the interval. Budleigh had one unlucky moment in the first half when a terrific strike from Haylee Pannell cannoned back off a post.

A counter-attack goal made it five for the hosts in the 53rd minute and the cup holders added three more, taking advantage of some hesitation and lack of communication in the visitors defence.

For battling, but beaten Budleigh, Chelcey Greasley, Sara Burke and Billie Denny, were the stand-out performers.

Meanwhile, the Robinettes have been dealt a big blow by the news that Celine White is moving to France later this month. Although at present injured, she has given the team great service both on and off the field with her skill, passion and enthusiasm. We thank her for her efforts and wish her well for the future.
