THERE is an opportunity coming up for Peninsula League clubs to have their own club linesman/referee’s assistant, receive some specific training to aid them with the job.

The course covers various aspects of running the line and assisting the match day referee including offside, flag technique, positioning, team work and decision making.

The majority of the session will be spent on the field of play and therefore attendees are required to turn up with a set of flags, a whistle and appropriate clothing/footwear.

The first of the courses is on Saturday, July 9 at Appledore, a week later (Saturday, July 9), Exeter Civil Service FC host the event, on Saturday, July 16 the session is at the Devon County FA headquarters at Coach Road, Newton Abbot and the final one is Saturday, July 23 at the YMCA, Kitto centre in Plymouth. All the courses run for two hours with a 9.30am start.

To book a place on the courses clubs should make contact with Malcolm Mason (County Training Officer) malcolm.mason620@btinternet.com
