Exmouth Town thirds went down 6-0 when they entertained second in the table Dawlish United in a Macron League Division Eight game.

In a bright start the Town third looked impressive and were denied the game’s opening goal by a linesman’s flag!

However, it all began to go wrong when Mat Peligry picked up a red card, but they did get to the half-time break with the game still seeking an opening goal.

After the break the deadlock was broken when the visiting side were afforded too much room in the penalty area and took full advantage. A ‘soft’ penalty on the hour doubled the Dawlish lead and the visitors took full advantage over the closing stages of their numerical advantage to score four more goals.

The Town Reserves saw their Macron League top flight game called off owing to a waterlogged pitch at Lyme Regis.
