Exmouth Amateurs under-8s launched a new season of Exeter and District Youth League football with a double header against Exeter sides, Central Rovers and Central United.
In the first game the young Ammies were quickly into their stride playing a delightful passing game. Some fine wing play ended with Kyle Pearcy firing them ahead.
Central Rovers responded and it needed a wonderful save from keeper James Sutherland to deny them an equaliser.
After the break a 2-0 win was secured when pacey winger Pearcy bagged his second of the game.
In their second game against Central United , the Ammies were again the dominant force from the first whistle.
Excellent passing and movement led to goals from Harry Williams, Kyle Pearcy, and Finley Clifford that took the Ammies into the break with a nap hand lead.
The Exeter side rallied in the second half but the Ammies back line of Sammy Pratt, Ryan Horne and Jared Guy worked hard but could do nothing about the three goals that Central netted.
At 5-3 the outcome was in the balance only until Jo Tapp seized control of the centre of the pitch and his promptings saw Ammies add two more goals to seal a 7-3 win.
With valuable contributions in both games from Joel Smith who also did extremely well in the midfield and little James Pearce who kept the Central defence busy, Ammies emerged from their first two games with a convincing brace of victories.
