OTTERTON have just three games left to ensure that they play a second season in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League.Last Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Newtown left them deep in trouble towards the foot of the table but their fate remains very much in their own hands. This coming Saturday they face Feniton and follow that with another home engagement the following Saturday against University before they complete the campaign with a May 14 trip to Hatherleigh. To ensure they finish above both Budleigh and Wellington, and clear of the bottom three, they need to reach 34 points and that means banking five from the next three games with a win and two draws. The Reserves, with a treble sequence of wins inside seven days with victories over Lapford, Countess Wear Dynamoes and, on Saturday last, 4-2 at Offwell Rangers, leaves the Otters in 6th place with three to play.Even three more wins will not be sufficient to force them into one of the three guaranteed promotion berths, however, a maximum return from games with 3rd placed Hemyock (last night) and then back to back away and home meetings with bottom side Morchard Bishop on May 9 and 16 and they will finish high enough to go up in the event of more than the top three being promoted.
