Brixington Blues U10s had mixed fortunes in Exeter & District League meetings with Sidmouth opposition.

First up Blues went down 1-0 to Sidmouth Warriors.

Alex Bowyer and skipper Zac Brown both went close in the early exchanges, the latter with a fine header from a Lewis Full cross.

Carrick Howard had a fine game before injury forced him out of the contest before the break.

In the second half, Blues’ keeper Oliver Kelly was called into action and made a couple of tremendous saves.

Brown, Bowyer and Thomas Rowsell linked up well, but, despite some impressive approach play a goal was not forthcoming.

Late on Warriors scored the goal that secured a narrow victory.

Next up Blues took on Sidmouth Raiders and were soon into their stride.

Five minutes in Jake Howarth fired them into the lead.

Raiders hit back and Kelly made a terrific save to preserve the lead that Blues took into half-time.

After the break Blues moved Wright into an attacking role and, with Fulls, Bowyer and Rowsell providing a formidable midfield trio it was not long before the second goal arrived with Bowyer the scorer.

Jake Haggerty provided the assist for Brown to make it three and the same player also netted the fourth.

Fulls rifled home a free-kick to make it five and Brown completed then scoring after good work from Wright as Blues chalked up a resounding 6-0 win.
