Exiles were beaten 8-2 in their Exeter, Sunday League meeting with half Moon.

Goals were certainly expected as Half Moon have a healthy strike record whilst Exiles have found keeping clean sheets very difficult this term so far!

The opening exchanges were end to end with Exiles giving as good as they got.

The deadlock was broken by Half Moon with two goals in quick succession. Exiles battled back and then deficit was halved when Gav Connor netted but the two goal margin was restored just before the break.

Exiles made a bright start to the second half but fell further behind when Half Moon took advantage of some sloppy defending at a corner.

Once again Exiles produced a good response and it was no more than they deserved when Jordi Thompson, the undoubted star of the show for his side, placed a delightful lobbed shot over the keeper from fully 30-yards.

Just past then hour mark Exiles suffered a blow with the loss of influential central defender Zaine Mitchell to, of all things, a broken boot!

Mitchell’s departure signalled a collapse in the Exiles defensive ranks and half Moon took charge scoring four more times to bag an 8-2 win.
