Ammies dominated from the start against the basement battlers and the pressure finally told when Tom Matthews fired his side ahead, albeit from a deflection.

With the hosts putting up a determined display, the sides went into the break with that one goal between them.

The second half saw Ammies increasing the pressure and, following an excellent passing move, Nobby Taras doubled the lead.

Now in total control they quickly added two further goals, from Josh Hill and Adam Croft.

Credit must be given to a spirited Otterton side who never gave up and played the game in an excellent manner.

This weekend the Ammies' first team make another short trip as they go to Manstone Road to face a Sidmouth Town side dumped out of the East Devon Senior Cup last weekend by Seaton Town.

With Sidmouth Town being one of the sides bidding for promotion to the Peninsula League if they can finish in a top two berth this term, it means that the Vikings will be very keen to bank the points.

When the sides met at Warren View in early September it was the Vikings who departed with the points after a 4-1 win.

Ammies head into the game one point and two places behind 3rd placed Town in the table and so an away win at Manstone Road will boost their bid for a top two finish.

The Ammies Reserves have home advantage for the visit of Tipton St John whilst the Third team are also at home, entertaining Woodbury.

Taking charge of the Ammies' Third team will be Dave Somerton-Rees who has been playing for the side this term and now steps into the role of player boss - this weekend being his first game in charge
