THE FIRST Saturday of the New Year sees Otterton begin what they hope will be the start of better things in the second half of the Devon and Exeter League season with a trip to Wellington Reserves.

Otterton have endured a difficult campaign to date, but it was on the road that they managed their lone victory of the first half of the season, a 2-1 success at Budleigh. They have, however, lost seven of their other eight away games, shipping 29 goals. Saturday's hosts have won three and lost three of their seven home games to date.

There is no action for Exmouth Amateurs 1st team but the Reserves play, they travel to Uplowman for a Division Two game.

When the sides met at Warrenview in October the Mid Devon side won 5-0, so revenge is on the menu this weekend for the Ammies!

Ammies 3rd team also play, they entertain Bickleigh in a Division Five game.

East Budleigh start the New Year with a trip to Elmore. The Jays lost their first four away games but did bank a point from their most recent trip, that a share of the spoils at Broadclyst.

Lympstone travel to Lapford for a Division Three game and, in the same section, Marines AFC Reserves host Colyton in what looks to be a fascinating contest with both sides occupying top three berths in the table.

Woodbury host Thorverton in Division Five and Exmouth Town Reserves travel to Alphington in Division Seven, which also sees East Budleigh Reserves host Hatherleigh Town.

In Division Eight, Lympstone Reserves entertain Newton St Cyres and in Division Nine Topsham Town Thirds travel to Seaton and Otterton Reserves go to Morchard Bishop.
