Budleigh Salterton Reserves 3 Chard Town 3

Enforced late changes were made to Budleigh Salterton Reserves line up for their home fixture in the Fresha Devon and Exeter League Premier Division, wriets SpursTom.

The visitors were first to apply early pressure, but the pendulum soon swung the other way. Two corners were conceded in quick succession, and from the second a cracker from Jack Greenslade gave the hosts the lead.

The advantage lasted just four minutes as bad defending, from a corner at the other end of the pitch, allowed Jamie Underwood to equalise.

Chances went begging until we were treated to goals in the 28th and 30th minutes, firstly by Brandon Perry for the home side, and then a leveller from Richard Hebditch, to send the team’s into the break at 2-2.

The second period was relatively quiet for almost half an hour before, just like a pair of buses, two strikes came along almost together!

Chard going ahead for the first time with Max Westlake finding the back of the net, before Aarron Denny with a clinical finish made it 3-3.

In the 84th minutes Chard Town were awarded a penalty, the taker hit the post after which home glovesman Alex Richardson dramatically headed the ball to safety and this bizarre act was enough to give the Robins a share of the spoils.
