EXMOUTH TOWN Ladies made progress in the County Cup with a home victory over Exeter Phoenix.Once again it was 'hot shot' Leanne Hunt who took the goal- scoring honours with a four goal haul, although she would, no doubt be the first to say that this was another fine all-round team performance. It took just two minutes for leading scorer Leanne Hunt to make her mark as she hit an early double.Lucy Williams then got on the score sheet at the far post and a dominant first half display was closed with further goals as Hunt completed yet another hat-trick and skipper Nic Smallcombe scored the 'goal of the game'.Picking the ball up inside her own half, she made her way towards goal, weaving through both midfield and defensive opposition before crashing a drive into the top corner to take her side in at the break with a five goal lead.Claire Bedwell nodded the sixth shortly after the restart, heading home a rebound after Hunt's shot was saved by the visiting keeper.Hunt then bagged a fourth, and after a couple of further goals by the visitors, Jenny Cordwell cut in from the right and fired home to complete the scoring.
