Budleigh Salterton 3, Ottery St Mary 2 aet

Budleigh Salterton eased came from behind to defeat Ottery St Mary in the semi-final of the Morrison Bell Cup, writes Alan Beer.

The Otters took a 15th minute lead when The Robins’ defence failed to clear their lines.

On 41 minutes the lead was doubled, but the Robins struck straight back to halve the deficit a minute before the interval through Adam Turner.

The second half was just five minutes old when Mark Lever headed home the

equaliser. Ten minutes later the same player headed home from a Brett Wright free kick. Midway through the half the host levelled the scores with a deflected shot which initially looked to be going wide.

The game went to extra time during which Mike Hancock scored with a close range shot to give Budleigh the win and send them into a final meeting with Seaton Town.

Robins team; Pullin, Wilson, Nield, A Pannell, Hancock, Sale, Lever, Wright, Turner, G Pannell, Greenslade; Subs, Carr, Pidgeon, Bird (all played).
