Haggerty hat-trick as Brixington Blues Under-10s impress against Mid Devon opposition

Brixington Blues Under-10s continued their impressive early impressive league form with a brace of wins over Mid Devon outfits CS Cougars and Bobcats.

First up they took on a Cougars side that had never previously got the better of. An early goal from Jake Fulls gave them the advantage, but thereafter it was a close contest with defenders Jake Haggerty and Charlie Precious working hard and, when they were beaten, goalkeeper Zac Brown was equal to the best the opposition could offer.

Just before the interval Alex Bowyer put the Blues two up. The home side hit back with an early second half goal, but Blues were not to be denied a famous win and a second from Bowyer ensured a 3-1 success for his team.

For the meeting with Bobcats Blues made a number of positional changes.

Carrick Howard took over the skippers armband and led by example opening the scoring. A Jake Haggerty goal, followed as Blues bossed the game. Bowyer netted a third before a Jake Howarth brace gave the side a nap hand half-time lead.

Bobcats, to their credit keep playing and pulled a goal back, before Howarth completed a hat-trick.

Bowyer netted twice more and Howarth got his fourth of the morning before, to cap a dominant performance, Jake Haggerty slotted two more, getting his first hat-trick, and sealing a mighty impressive 11-1 success.
