East Budleigh Reserves registered their best win of the season, defeating basement dwellers Amory Green Rovers 11-0 in a Macron League Division Eight meeting at Vicarage Road, writes Mark Auton.

Julian Green took the plaudits with a double hat-trick and Joe Walker added a treble to a score line that could have been a lot more.

The deadlock was broken after 12 minutes; Ross Bright found Kai Guise who squared for Green to score.

Three minutes later a through ball from Bright was misjudged by the visiting keeper and Green was left with an empty net to double the score. Budleigh continued to pepper the Amory goal; Green again went close and Guise was denied by the offside flag.

Ten minutes before the break Green completed his first hat-trick and a minute later kept his composure for the fourth when set up by Gareth Morrey.

A fifth arrived before half-time with Joe Walker setting up Guise to find the far corner.

The away side forced Budleigh keeper Drew Shorrock into a fine save on what was a rare attack.

The second half was similar to the first; Ben Wilks assisting Walker for his first two minutes in. Simon Coughlan struck the woodwork in what was a good display from him before Walker fired a Budleigh seventh across the keeper and into the net.

In the 64th minute Walker tapped in his third after Green was denied and three minutes later Tom Christian added his name to the score sheet after Morrey saw his shot parried.

Green forced in his fifth and Budleigh’s tenth a quarter of an hour from time and the final goal saw Steve Davey and Guise combine to set up that man Green to complete the rout.

This Saturday (May 5) Budleigh host Honiton in their final home game.
