Good Evans sub makes immediate Ammies Under-13 impact

Exmouth Amateurs Under-13s played host to Okehampton, who the Ammies had beaten in the semi-final of the cup last season by the odd goal in three.

The visitors pitched up looking to exact revenge, but Ammies served up an excellent all-round performance to win 3-01 and make it four wins from their last five league outings.

Okehampton started well and took an early lead. Ammies slowly got their game going and ten minutes before the break Joe Evans was introduced from the bench and within two minutes he had struck to level things up!

In the second half Ammies took charge and began to move the ball well around the pitch. With 20 minutes remaining Sam Wheeler rifled the ball home from 20-yards to edge Ammies ahead.

The visitors responded well, but got little change out of the organised Ammies defence and the points were sealed five minutes from time when Ryan Shapcott slotted home.

Next up for Ammies is this Saturday’s trip to Feniton.
