Honiton Girls U13s 0, Exmouth Amateurs Girls 15 Devon Girls League: AFTER the disappointment of their penalty shoot-out defeat in the county cup final the girls got back to league action on Sunday and produced a dominant performance against a spirited side.

Exmouth produced some excellent football and some great goals.

They opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Beth Wills fired in a cross that deflected off a defender and into the net.

Holly Burdick added the second before a mazy run by Georgia Langdon ended with her poking the ball past the keeper.

Burdick showed fine finishing to score the next three goals to take her personnel tally to four.

Wills then scored her first league goal for the club as she smashed the ball home from the edge of the box.

Exmouth had the luxury of changing all their players at half time, but their dominance continued as they passed the ball around with confidence, creating a host of chances.

Marika Ghiglia scored a 10-minute hat-trick as she finished neat passes from Laura Allen, Lara Spires and Leah Rawlings.

Rawlings added the next two goals with finishes from the edge of the box. A well-worked corner between Allen and Rawlings ended with Allen driving the ball across the box, forcing another own goal.

Allen scored number 14 after a stunning move. Volpini Brooks and Rawlings swapped passes before Ghiglia set up Allen who smashed the ball home.

Ghiglia scored her fourth and Exmouth's last goal to finish a scintillating performance.

Exmouth move on to the league cup final next week where they hope to complete the double.
