Exmouth Amateurs girls under-16 side were at their very best as they clinically took apart Crediton, beating the M id devon side 7-0.
EXMOUTH Amateurs girl’s under-16s produced superb display to defeat Crediton 7-0.
Both sets of players observed the two minute silence before their Remembrance Sunday meeting.
After those two minutes of silent reflection the whistle went and Ammies were straight into their game with an inspired all-round performance.
Holly Burdick was central to all the best of the attacking intent the Ammies showed, but this one most certainly more than a one-girl show for everybody played their part. There were even two players volunteering for the goalkeeping berth!
Typically it was red hot striker Ghilgia who led the scoring with another hat-trick and the other efforts came from Burdick, Worsley, Wills and Allen. Such was the dominance of Ammies that the first player to keep goal, Emma Cooper, touched the ball just once during her spell between the posts! Mind you much of the keepers inactivity was down to the magnificent, water-tight back four of Hillman, Dunn,Volpini and Griffiths.
Hillman replaced Cooper in goal for the second half and Emily Steer took her place in the back four and delivered a superb performance at right back – this a totally new position for her.
Jess Dunn did a fantastic job in marking the dangerous Crediton player out of the contest whilst the midfield pairing of Rawlings and Allen sat slightly deeper than the last meeting between the sides and mopped up anything, and everything, that came their way.
Jess Dunn picked up the Star Player award for her considerable work in marking the opposition strikers.
The team would like to commend Rick and Simon for their continued unstinting support.
