Martin Finneron hit a second half double as the Royal Marines AFC defeated hosts Dartmouth 5-3.
THE Royal Marines AFC were 5-3 winners when they visited Dartmouth.
The third from bottom hosts put up a decent fight but the Militarymen were worthy victors come full time.
There was just the one goal in the first half, scored by Matt Dawson who punished a defensive error in clinical fashion.
After the break the hosts were quickly level but that merely served to see the Militarymen find a new gear and it was no surprise when Dan Boere restored their lead just before the hour mark.
Two goals followed in quick succession, both netted by Martin Finneron as the Royal Marines moved smoothly into a 4-1 lead.
The plucky hosts the grabbed their second before substitute Finn Gilfillan restored the three goal difference.
The final word was left to the hosts with their third to end a thoroughly entertaining contest.
Once again the veteran Phil Everett was central to all the positive play that the Royal marines produced.
The win was the perfect tonic for Richard Pears side who had been beaten by table topping Buckland the week before.
Next up for the Militarymen is a tough one as they entertain a Torpoint side who have been beaten just twice this season to date with only one reversal on the road this term, that a 2-0 October 30 defeat at Plymouth Parkway.
