Exmouth United Under-11s took to the pitch in their smart new kit courtesy of Paul Davie Plumbing and Heating, for their opening games in a new Exeter and District Youth League campaign.

The team played as impressively as they looked, racking up a 5-0 win at Tiverton-based Twyford Gladiators.

United dominated the first half, but only had two goals to show for it at the break. Joe Bowden rifled home the first and a cool finish from Jared Guy doubled the advantage.

In the second half a well-worked free-kick routine involving Harry Williams and Sammy Pratt led to Guy netting his second and then a searing drive from Kian Davie made it 4-0. Five minutes from time Harry Williams thumped home a blistering free-kick.

The Exmouth midfield and defence was superb throughout, with James Griffin making a great save from a rare Twyford break. With the whole team linking cleverly to create chance after chance it was only the inspired form of the Twyford goalkeeper that kept the score down to five!

This was a great performance from all players which promises an exciting season ahead.
