Exmouth United Under-11s stormed back from a two-goal half-time deficit to deservedly bank a share of the spoils in their Exeter and District Youth League meeting with Moors Rhinos.

United were not at their best in the first half and the Tiverton-based side took full advantage. However, the second half was a very different affair and, Joseph Bowden halved the deficit early in the second half they increased the tempo of their game and surged forward. It was no more than they deserved when George Phillips levelled things up. The visitors’ goal led a charmed life with the uprights and cross bar struck a number of times and it was only the frame of the goal that prevented United from banking another three points.

In a fine all-round show from the home side it was the defensive three of Sammy Pratt, Ben Sribury and Adam Brown who emerged with glowing praise for their collective effort.
