There is a very special charity football match taking place this coming Sunday (September 18) in Exmouth.
Southern Road, the home of Exmouth Town is playing host to a game between the newly formed Exmouth Town Veterans and a combined side from World of Country Life and Devon Cliffs.
With Exmouth Town having chosen MacMillan Cancer Support as its designated charity it’s a great chance to give the fund raising an early season boost.
In addition to the main event there’s also an exhibition game between two Brixington Blues sides’s with whom Town have formed an association during the summer.
Away from the direct action on the Southern Road turf on Sunday there’s also an appearance at the club of Appy Angus, the mascot for the World of Country Life and also Rory who is of course the popular mascot at Devon Cliffs who will be at the game, not merely to entertain the youngsters but also to bag the bragging rights for the King of the shoot-out when the pair go head-to-head in a penalty competition.
Town Secretary John Dibsdall says: “We are hoping for decent weather and then I am sure we will get the sort of attendance that such a deserving cause warrants”
