Town will play their first home South West Peninsula League match on a Saturday since early September when Camelford are the visitors this Saturday (3pm), writes John Dibsdall.
Town will be looking to build on their run of three successive league victories against a side languishing near the bottom of the table but who have a better away record then at home including a victory at highflying Tavistock and four creditable draws on the road.
With Town’s game at Saltash falling foul of the weather the attention switched to the reserves and they did not disappoint with an eleven nil victory over Culm United. Whilst there was some confusion with Culm thinking the game had been postponed having misread a website article the game was never in doubt and indeed Town’s Under-16s played on the pitch in the morning winning 1-0 in their local derby against Exmouth United, Josh Price the goal scorer.
Whilst Culm may have had a weakened side that should not detract from Town’s performance and but for some fine saves from the overworked ‘keeper and last ditch defending the score could have been even more emphatic. James Sharkey, Richard Higham and Sam Schaefli all recorded hat-tricks, Adam Turner and Tim Wright were also on the score sheet.
