Exmouth Town's game on Saturday at Ottery St Mary was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, writes John Dibsdall.
Town’s inactivity gave Liverton the opportunity to take over at the top of the South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division table, which they duly took dispatching third place Okehampton Argyle 4-0.
They now lead Town on goal difference and have a game in hand.
On Boxing Day Town make the short trip to their nearest rivals, Budleigh Salterton Kick off 11am.
The Robins will be looking to build on their 2-1 victory over Sidmouth last Saturday where Danny Williams again showed his natural goal scoring ability.
Whilst there are other sides in the Division that may be better technically than this emerging young Budleigh side Town Manager Jody Bolt will know that no side will be more determined to put one across his title challengers.
This will be the first time for a number of years where Town will go into the match as favourites with no new injury worries apart from Ali Sawer who has had to have an operation on his broken nose.
Whilst favourites are there to be beaten Town have shown in recent games that they too possess the necessary determination to compete in all areas of the pitch and will be looking to extend their eight match winning run.
