Exmouth Town will have a rare match day off on the third Saturday of the month as their South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division game at Galmpton became the first of the weekend’s matches to be postponed.

Because of the incessant rain during Friday afternoon a tea-time pitch inspection was held and the surface was deemed to be so wet, with more rain forecast, that the game was called off.

It may well be a blessing in disguise for Pears and his men who have been very busy of late fighting their campaign on three fronts and it also means they will have no injuries on a match day prior to next Wednesday night’s huge cup semi-final.

On Wednesday, Town tackle Stoke Gabriel in the last four of the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup.

The game is being played at the splendidly appointed homers Heath base of Buckland Athletic and kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Town’s Throgmorton Cup semi-final with Premier Division outfit Elburton Villa is set for Wednesday, April 30 at Bovey Tracey FC with a 7.30pm kick-off.
