Exmouth Town drawn at home in FA Vase 1st Rd proper

Exmouth Town’s reward for defeating Bridgwater Town in Saturday’s FA Vase tie is a home game in the first round proper.

Town will host an Elburton Villa side that they beat 4-1 on their own patch in what was the first South West Peninsula League Premier Division match of the new campaign for both teams.

So far, in this season’s FA Vase, Elburton Villa have beaten Launceston 3-1 in the first qualifying round and, last Saturday, they won 4-0 at Bishops Lydeard.

Town’s path to the first round proper has come from a first qualifying round over Callington before Saturday’s splendid 3-0 Southern Road win over Western League Premier Division table-toppers Bridgwater Town.

The other East Devon side in the draw, Sidmouth Town, have been drawn away to Western League top flight side Cadbury Heath.

The FA Vase 1st Round proper is set for Saturday, October 13. As well as a place in the second round (128 clubs) there’s a financial reward of £825 for the winners, with the beaten side on October 13 picking up £275.
