Exmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton both into last 16 of Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup

The first Saturday of November was another very good afternoon for our local football teams with both Exmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton making progress in the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup.
A 5-1 Southern Road win for Town and a penalty shoot-out success for Budleigh throws open the possibility of the two sides being drawn together when the final 16 draw is made on Monday morning (November 5)
Dan Boere and Karl Rickard both bagged braces and there was a goal also from Ace High as Town brushed aside the challenge of Totnes and Dartington to win their tie.
At Greenway Lane the Robins were held 1-1 by Plymouth side Shakespeare. Trailing 1-0 and staring down the barrel of a shock cup exit, the Robins took the tie to extra-time thank to a last minute Tim Nield goal.
Two spot kick saves by Ade Pullin and some composed penalties from the Robins, included the final one from Darren Carr, saw Budleigh into the last 16.
In the Firewatch Devon senior Cup Colaton Raleigh claimed a famous scalp with a 5-4 extra-time win over Plymouth-based Hideaway Café.
Despite playing with ten men for 100 of the 120 minutes, Raleigh won through thanks to a hat-trick from player boss Rikki Pitter.
Another local side to make cup progress in a penalty shoot-out were Otterton who saw off hosts Langdon in a Budden Westinsure Devon Intermediate Cup tie.
In the league there was a third point of the Fresha league top flight season for Exmouth Amateurs, gained in a 2-2 Warrenview draw with University. No such joy for Budleigh Salterton Reserves though they made hosts Seaton Town wait until two mantes from time to seal a slender 2-1 victory.
Lympstone nailed a 4-0 home success in their Division Three meeting with visiting Hemyock No similar joy for Exmouth Amateurs Reserves, beaten 5-2 by Division Four table topers Axminster Town reserves whilst Exmouth Town Reserves shared four goals with hosts University in another Division Four game
