It was a miserable Wednesday night for both Exmouth Town and Exmouth Amateurs but a very good one for Topsham Town.

South West Peninsula League Easter Division title chasing Bovey Tracey were the visitors to Southern Road for the pen-ultimate game of the Towns season and the South Devon side showed the form of champions with a 7-1 success.

Exmouth Amateurs 3-0 defeat at Topsham Town puts a final nail into the coffin of their promotion bid to get out of the Devon & Exeter League. The defeat to the Tops leaves the Ammies with little chance of the runners-up berth - Bickleigh will seal that with four points from their final four games, irrespective of Ammies winning their final two.

But for the Tops the win means a quick-fire double over the Ammies who they beat in Exmouth the previous week.

East Budleigh were not in Senior One action but the 2-0 defeat suffered by Cullompton Rangers at leaders Alphington means the Jays cannot now finish in either of then bottom two places and only an incredible end to the season by Upottery would see the East Devon villagers finish above them so Senior One safety is almost certain for the side.
