Exmouth Amateurs Under-13s were 2-0 winners when they met Brixington Blues in a local derby to contest Exeter and District Youth League Division One points.

Ammies began well pressing high up the pitch. Blues offered a threat on the counter, but nothing that troubled Ammies gloves man Harry Wright.

The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute thanks to a strike from the edge of the box by Nat Hawkins that took a deflection before wrong-footing Blues goalkeeper Kyle Parry.

Blues came back well, but there were precious few further alarms at either end of the pitch through to half-time.

After the break Blues had a new threat! First half goalkeeper Parry was put onto the left wing and he caused a number of problems for the Ammies defence. However, Ammies’ defender Ben Dawson played superbly to reduce the Parry effect!

The second and match deciding goal came midway through the second half when Oscar Moyle crossed for Ryan Shapcott to use the outside of his boot to guide the ball home. Lucas Feduzi went close to a third, but two proved enough for Ammies to bag the three points and the bragging rights!
