Exmouth Amateurs Under-10s finish off season in real style

Exmouth Amateurs under-10s finished off their season in style with a win and a draw in their final Exeter and District League games of the campaign.

First up against Crediton they started well and raced into a two-goal lead through Ryan Bowyer and Lewis Hillier.

After the break the Mid Devon side came back, but good defending meant under-employment for Ammies glovesman Jamie Roy Crossman little work to do in goal. A third Ammies goal stirred a response and Crediton netted a quick-fire double.

Then arrived the moment all players and supporters of the team have waited two seasons for as Scott Simpson-Currie carried the ball forwards and, after a lung-bursting run from the halfway line beat three players and slotted past the keeper for his first goal for the club.

Crediton did pull another goal back, but Lewis Hillier completed the goal scoring to seal a 5-3 success.

Next up they took on champions Stoke Hill who are unbeaten competitively for two years!

Another sharp Ammies start saw them stun the Exeter-based side with goals from Lewis Hillier and Ryan Bowyer.

Typical any champions Stoke Hill dug deep and eventually did score twice themselves, but Ammies were excellent value for a share of the spoils.
