Exmouth Amateurs were without a game on Saturday as both 1st and 2nd team games fell to the weather.

The Ammies senior side are well on course to bounce back up to the Premier Division as they head into Christmas sitting in a promotion berth with 33 points from 15 games.

Only Exeter based Phoenix sit above them with two more points from one game fewer.

The race for the top three berths looks set to be between six sides, Phoenix, Ammies, Feniton, Tipton St John, Bow AAC and Cullompton Rangers.

The next four games will certainly provide a stern test of the Ammies promotion credentials for they play four of the other five teams in the promotion race, and all at Warrenview!

On New Year’s Eve they entertain Tipton St John and then they begin their 2012 schedule with a game against Bow AAC.

On January 14 they receive a visit from Cullompton Rangers and they then host Feniton on January 21.

By the end of the first month of the New Year Ammies will surely have a route back to the top flight well and truly mapped out!

The Ammies second string are also on course to achieve promotion this term.

In their case they sit fifth in Division Four just four points off second place. It’s going to be a close run thing for the promotion places with just five points currently separating Newton St Cyres who sit third and Kentisbeare who are eighth.

On New Year’s Eve the Ammies Reserves travel to Kentisbeare.
