Exiles 3, Bank United 2

Bank were edged out in a compelling Exmouth derby.

With the team’s going into the game in the knowledge that the winners would top the Exeter and District Sunday League table, the stakes were high.

Bank took an early lead through Privott, but parity was swiftly restored courtesy of a route-one attack.

Exiles then took a 2-1 lead with a goal that had a suspicion of off-aside about it and they took that narrow advantage into the break.

Into the second half there were chances at both ends. Exiles eventually extended their lead, but Bank were soon back in it when fine approach play from Weaks saw Tuckett net.

Unfortunately for Bank, that was a s good as it got and they had to settle for derby defeat. The Bank Man of the Match award went to substitute Tom Elliot.
