East Budleigh Reserves produced a fine display to win away 2-1 at local rivals Otterton last Saturday, in a Macron League Division Eight fixture, writes Mark Auton.

Playing against the wind in the first half, Budleigh were playing some good football and went ahead when Joe Walker centred for Kai Guise to score.

Defensively, Budleigh stood firm as the half-time whistle came.

Goal number two for Budleigh saw Corbin Couch win a 50/50 with the home keeper before tapping in, before a late rally from the host saw Mark Dobrijevic pull a goal back.

It could have been 2-2, but for an excellent save from Budleigh keeper Mark Bown and follow-up clearance from the goalline by Lewis Fletcher.

On the day, Bown and Gareth Morrey stood out for Budleigh, who have an afternoon off this coming Saturday (February 24).
