East Budleigh Reserves were beaten 6-1 in a Fresha League Division Six meeting at home with Kentisbeare, writes Mark Auton.

With an hour gone they were just 2-1 behind and in with a shout of getting a result, but changes were made after which the home side were overrun.

In the first half Budleigh gifted the away side the lead, but Matt Thomas had a couple of sighters when latching on to passes from Steve Davey and Nick Bolt respectively.

A second for the away side just after the re-start was a blow, but Budleigh gave themselves hope six minutes later when Bolt set up Thomas who calmly slotted the ball home.

From Alex Manning’s corner and a Si Pearce free-kick Bolt was then unlucky not to equalise.

That was as good as it got for Budleigh as two quick goals sealed the win and with the fight over Kentisbeare took their tally to six to complete the scoring.
