Stoke Hill 6, East Budleigh Reserves 2

The final score in this Division Six fixture was a bit harsh on East Budleigh Reserves although Budleigh lacked a commitment and desire to compete in the first half, finding themselves two down at the break, writes Mark Auton.

The bright moments from Budleigh came from Ben Wilks, whilst Joe Rosser was denied a stone wall penalty.

It was a better Budleigh in the second period: Rosser headed over from a Tom Christian corner but made no mistake heading Budleigh back into the game.

Budleigh’s joy was short lived as the home side regained their two-goal cushion.

Wilks continued to create for Budleigh and it was 3-2 when Harry Trick headed in.

Clinical finishing from the home side in the closing stages saw them add three further strikes to seal the win.

For Budleigh, Rich Wyatt worked hard alongside Adam Wheatley and Rory White, whilst debutant Jon Breeds showed promise.

This Saturday, Budleigh host Silverton looking for a much needed morale boost.
