East Budleigh went down 2-1 at home to Bickleigh in a Fresha League Division One meeting, but the game should have been dead and buried as far as the visitor's were concerned before they scored from two second half chances, writes Mark Auton.

Jack Howarth put Budleigh in front direct from a beautifully struck corner kick and it was the same player who was denied a second with the ball deemed not to have crossed the goal line.

Dan Atkinson, Mike White and Aiden Martin also had opportunities, but Budleigh had to settle for a one goal lead at the break.

In the second period Budleigh created their own problems by failing to clear their lines and the away side were level.

A beak away winner followed as Bickleigh stole all three points. Despite defeat, Darren Dawes, Dan Reynolds, Adam Jones and Max Tooby defended well as a unit, whilst Howarth worked tirelessly in attack.

Budleigh’s next fixture sees them host Exeter University on Saturday, February 14 whilst this Saturday (February 7) the East Budleigh Reserves entertain Woodbury this Saturday kick-off 3pm.
