East Budleigh made the short journey to near neighbours Woodbury from where they returned with a creditable point after a 2-2 draw against a team second in the Macron Devon and Exeter League Division Two table.

It was an excellent all round display from Budleigh, who just failed to hold out for the win. Nathan Penhallurick struck for Budleigh to give them a first half lead. Former Budleigh player Josh Sale struck both goals for the hosts in the second half, with Liam West grabbing the other for Budleigh.

Man of the Match for Budleigh was Steve Hitchcock, who produced a fine defensive performance.

Budleigh will complete their domestic program when they host Newtown at Vicarage Road on bank holiday Monday (May 7), with the game kicking-off at 3pm.
