East Budleigh were again left to reflect on what might have been after they led hosts Clyst Valley at the break only to end up on the wrong side of a 2-1 score line, writes Mark Auton.

Dan Atkinson neatly lobbed Budleigh ahead, possibly against the run of play, but Budleigh could easily have been further ahead by half-time.

A harsh penalty given against Budleigh brought the home side level and when the Budleigh defence failed to clear their lines the hosts joyfully grabbed the lead.

In the closing stages Budleigh threw everything they could at their opponents without that bit of luck they deserved.

For Budleigh, who host Lympstone in a local derby this Saturday, Mike White, Joe Rosser and Ben Wyatt all worked hard.
