Exmouth coach Jon Hill spoke after the defeat at Old Centralians.

He said: “We were not clinical enough today and had a number of opportunities to put huge distance between ourselves and them in the first half.

“Seven try scoring opportunities went begging before the break and then the tides turned in the second half. This lack of accuracy was our absolute downfall and we were made to pay for our errors and wasted opportunities by a very good side who defended well and were streetwise.

“We certainly missed Stuart Lowe, Chris Bentley, Ross Morshead and George Savage in our pack today and lacked the experience that they bring. We must see a huge response next week.

“All we can now is win our last five league games and see whether that is enough for top spot. Today was a huge opportunity missed as a victory today would have almost cemented our place in the top two for the end of the season.

“We can’t do anything about that now, but what we can do is to focus on the next game with renewed endeavour.”
